WINDOW DIARIES

“I discovered windows one afternoon and after that, nothing was ever the same.”    -    Anne Spollen

The "Window Diaries" project was born out of a passion for architecture, photography and a desire to show how much more there is to see in this fast paced world we live in. The constant run from A to B had us forget how to stop and observe our surroundings, how to understand what they comunicate through geometry, lights, shadows.

A different perspective and interpretation of what is aparently ordinary, banal, materialized in an interactive project which encourages us to put our phones away and open our eyes to our surrounding environment because we just might see something worth taking a moment to look at and smile.

All the photos were shot in one day just by taking a few seconds to observe and photograph what I saw on my transit from one place to another in what would otherwise be catalogued as a normal day.

Every photo has a code formed out of the first letters of the street name and the number of the building where the photographed windows are.
Window Diaries - photo series

Bellow you have just a part of the photo series which totals 25 pictures.
Window Diaries - editorial

The photo series is paired with a magazine which serves as both an informational and interactive part of the project.

The minimalistic geometric forms are meant to offer yet another perspective of what started off as an observation exercise, and at the same time create a collection of elements relevant to the photo series by reducing them from shape to form.

The quotes do not include the authors in order to have you look it up if one of them is of specific interest therefore creating a research exercise. GPS coordinates are part of the interactive process as well, meant to have you go see and experience my perspective yourself or if not possible, use Google Street View for a virtual tour of the urban architecture of the city.
